Russell Lea Infants' School was established in 1931 and is one of the largest Infants' Schools in NSW. The school draws students from a large area within Drummoyne and has many out of area enrolments because of its reputation in early childhood education. The two-storeyed main building, cottage, assembly hall and new library are set in a secure, beautiful, native bush garden environment. The school provides a friendly family atmosphere and is highly regarded and supported by the whole community.
Our purpose is to encourage the students to be responsible for their own learning and to become independent learners with high self-esteem. Our programs help to develop skills in communicating and decision-making. Learning experiences are provided to enable students to become well-rounded people who reach their potential in all areas. We expect all students to establish patterns of learning that will prepare them for their future life and we encourage them to be caring and co-operative individuals with a sense of responsibility to themselves, to others and the environment.
